Cannondale are one of the long standing names of cycling. Named after a railway station opposite the pickle factory from which Joe Montgomery and his team rented a room, Cannondale entered the world of cycling in 1971 with the legendary Bugger, the world’s first bicycle towed trailer.
Innovation after innovation followed – the revolutionary HeadShok of 1983, the Coda Magic Crankset of 1994, and the introduction of the iconic Lefty fork in 2000, to name but a few. They made history in 1997 by becoming the first American brand to sponsor a European pro road team, winning the Giro d’Italia (and six stages) in their first year, and propelling legendary sprinter Mario Cipollini to victory after victory.
In more recent years Cannondale have been the brand behind victories from Peter Sagan, Ryder Hesjedal and Rigoberto Uran just to name a few. They are unquestionably one of the biggest names in cycling, and will continue to be so for years to come.
