The Laufey range of hardcore hardtails from Orbea could well be the ideal mountain bike for our local trails. The progressive geometry, 29+ tyres and 140mm travel fork are capable of handling the techiest of descents in the Downs and Surrey Hills, while the mid-length chainstays provide a wheelbase long enough to carry speed for longer rides too. Ride to the trails, shred, and ride home!
The frame has been carefully put together, with some pretty wild tube shapes ensuring that the weight is kept down where possible but strength never compromised where it’s needed. The seat tube is dead straight – a bonus for fitting longer dropper posts – and the bottom bracket shell is BSA threaded for easy maintenance.
The H-LTD is the Laufey model that gets all the bells and whistles: a Fox Float 34 Performance fork graces the front end, 12-speed Shimano XT drives the wheels and a set of 4-piston Shimano brakes bring you to a stop. Race Face finishing kit and tubeless wheels, shod with chunky Maxxis rubber, complete the package.
