The Crankbrothers Mallet clipless MTB shoes provide the optimum partner to their ever-popular pedal and cleat system – and they work perfectly well with other two-bolt systems too. After pro-rider feedback, the cleat pocket is longer than usual to allow the pedal to be positioned further towards the heel for stability. It’s also been shaped for easier entry and release while making full use of the cleat position range.

Crankbrothers may be better known for their hardware but their parent company incorporates Fizik, which has a decorated history of making cycling shoes. Plenty of technology and design experience has carried over here, and this top-level version of the Mallet MTB shoes features the BOA L6 retention system: turn to tighten, pop up to release. The sole is stiffened for improved power transfer, but but allows enough flex to make use of the grippy outsole against the pedal body and trudging up hike-a-bike sections on the trail.

Sizing uses a USA last so select size based on UK normal shoe sizing. The range runs true to size so there's no need to size up. They're available in sizes 4 - 13 with half sizes availble from 5.5 - 11.5.
