Learning from decades of experience in the off-road industry, the Trek Marlin 4 takes cues from the rest of their range to offer an XC MTB that won’t break the bank – perfect for the rider buying their first serious mountain bike, or those working on a budget.


Constructed with Trek’s Alpha Silver Aluminium, the frame is impressively lightweight yet offers plenty of stiffness and strength for flinging around the trails. Internal cable routing keeps the front end tidy and protects against the elements to reduce wear and tear.

The 21-speed Shimano Tourney drivetrain is seriously robust, built to last and provide consistent shifting – the wide range of gears will help you tackle even the most daunting inclines. Equipped with Tektro disc brakes for modulation and control, descents are a breeze – combined with the SR Suntour XCE 28 suspension fork with up to 100mm of travel, the Marlin 4 takes lumpy trails in its stride. Bontrager XR2 Comp 2.2” tyres maintain traction on loose terrain and hold speed on smoother tracks.
