The Roscoe range has been completely overhauled for 2022 with a slew of tweaks and upgrades to solidify its place in the performance MTB category: 29er wheels, increased suspension travel, shortened chainstays and a slackened headtube – the Roscoe 9 sets the benchmark for performance hardtails, offering high-end specs at an attainable price point.
Trek’s tried and tested Alpha Gold Aluminium construction keeps the frame lightweight without sacrificing stiffness and durability, optimised to remain nimble on technical trails without being twitchy on high-speed descents. The Fox Rhythm 36 suspension fork offers 140mm of super-plush air-sprung travel for exceptional tracking and grip, however gnarly the trail feature. 29x2.60” Bontrager XR4 tyres provide plenty of grip on a wide scope of terrain, from powder runs to boggy berms. Boasting Shimano’s 12-speed XT drivetrain, shifting is seriously smooth and crisp, and offers plenty of range to tackle even the steepest inclines – paired with the powerful Shimano MT6100 hydraulic disc brakes, this high-performance setup wouldn’t be out of place in the professional ranks. The TranzX dropper seatpost seals the deal and cements the Roscoe 9 as a serious contender for one of the best aluminium hardtails available.
