Trek’s FX series of town and commuter bikes have an excellent reputation earned over

many years – and the latest models won’t be changing that. The FX 1 Disc Stagger is a no-frills straight-forward bicycle that’s comfortable to ride just about anywhere, and offers excellent value for money. Borrowing a few design points from elsewhere in the Trek catalogue, the FX 1 Disc looks much more swish than the price point might suggest too!

The aluminium frame features a dropped top-tube step-through design, making it easier to swing a leg over – handy if you’re not in the most flexible outfit, or if you’ve got loaded pannier bags. The riding position gives you good visibility across town traffic, while also being stable and confidence-inspiring. The FX 1’s Shimano drivetrain is simple to use and ideal for casual riding or light touring. The 35mm wide tyres keep the pace up on tarmac but also allow for a little off-road exploration. Mechanical disc brakes are reliable in all weathers, but are simple to maintain too. The frame is equipped with mounting points for mudguards and a pannier rack, for those planning to commute year-round.
