This full-sus 29er means business – no trail is too tough for this machine. For the rider looking for top-end performance at a more accessible price point, few come close to the JAM 6.9.
This latest iteration of the lightweight aluminium frame features a new overhauled more aggressive geometry, increasing the reach and slackening the head tube to enhance control around flowy corners on steep descents. Fully adjustable thanks to the Flip Chip system, you can tailor the geometry to suit your preference or wheel/tyre combo.
The JAM 6.9 is fitted with a FOX 36 Float Performance suspension fork, providing heaps of traction and control with 150mm of travel – it doesn’t get much better. This time around Focus has opted to equip the JAM with a horizontal Fox Float DPS rear shock, with a linkage delivering progressive travel throughout to minimise initial stiffness and maximise traction. The low anti-squat comes into its own when pedalling over rough terrain, making the ride smooth and predictable – trail features won't be a problem.
Complete with a full Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain, shifting is impeccable and doesn't miss a beat even under load. Combined with XT hydraulic disc brakes for uncompromised stopping power, the JAM 6.9 is at the top of its game.
